About Us

The Dilgo Khyentse Fellowship (DKF) is dedicated to fulfilling the vision and projects of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche (1910-1991). Fundamental to this commitment is the preservation and continuation of the Tibetan Buddhist heritage through education, health, cultural preservation and teachings.

DKF is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, incorporated in 1983, that unites Shechen centers around the world. Under the guidance of Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche, DKF initiates and supports charitable and humanitarian projects and activities in Tibet, Nepal, India and Bhutan, including:

The complete support and education of over 1,000 monks, nuns and children who receive an authentic training in Buddhist philosophy, sacred arts and meditation in our centers. A stable monastic tradition provides a rich and vibrant source for the continuation and preservation of the teachings and a training ground for the next generation.
Preserving Tibet’s cultural and spiritual heritage by building monastic colleges, retreat centers and schools, archiving rare Tibetan paintings, reproducing lost texts, reviving authentic Tibetan painting and the sacred dance tradition of eastern Tibet.
Building and supporting medical clinics and dispensaries that provide effective and compassionate health care to local communities and families.
Creating and supporting facilities for the elderly, children and displaced people.

The 2500 year-old Tibetan Buddhist tradition of culture and religion holds great value, not just to Buddhists but also to the world at large. This heritage is one of our world’s cultural treasures, and it is up to us to help preserve its living vibrancy.
